Product Design Architect · Hewlett Packard Enterprise

I make complex infrastructure feel clear and trustworthy.

I'm Greg Furuiye, a product design leader with 11 years of designing cloud infrastructure and technical systems. I start by listening, a habit from my years as a clinical counselor, and use what I hear to bring teams together around simpler products.

How I work

01

Listen first

Before I was a product designer I was a clinical counselor. That training shapes how I run research and workshops: I listen for what people need, not just what they ask for, and bring those insights back to the team.

02

Align by making

I brought a design sprint practice, drawing on MIT, IDEO and Sprint, to HPE Compute. Prototypes and shared workshops give product, engineering and leadership one thing to react to, which gets decisions made faster.

03

Design for scale

As lead product designer on the HPE Design System, I helped build what is now HPE's brand standard for new software. I design patterns that teams can reuse across UI, API documentation and CLI.

About

From the counseling room to the cloud console

My path into product design wasn't a straight line, and I think that's an advantage.

I started with a BFA in graphic design from Colorado State and spent years in visual and brand design. Later I earned an MA in clinical counseling and ran a private practice, where I built the skills I rely on most today: intentional listening, empathy, and making sense of complex human needs.

I joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2015 as a UX designer on HPE OneView, an infrastructure management product that reached 1 million licenses and more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Within two years I was leading a global team of eight designers working alongside 650 engineers and product managers.

Today, as a Product Design Architect, I co-lead product design strategy for the HPE GreenLake cloud management platform, with a focus on Compute Ops Management: dashboards, server provisioning, navigation, approval workflows, and visualizations that turn compute, networking and storage dependencies into something operators can act on.

Away from work you'll find me skiing, playing golf, fly fishing, or traveling to learn new cultures and languages.
